St. Philip/Athens Week 5: The St. Philip/Athens co-op hosted an inspired Climax-Scotts team on Saturday night. Climax-Scotts was coming off a rare loss to Colon the week before where several of the Panther players had to sit out due to in-team suspensions. With a full roster back, Climax-Scotts rolled to a 46-0 win over St. Philip/Athens as the Tigers fall to 2-3. Next: The St. Philip/Athens co-op will play at Athens High School in Week 6. Hosting Colon, St. Philip/Athens will play the only home game of the year at Athens High School in what will include homecoming festivities for the former Athens players who have joined the Tiger program. Due to a lack of players, Athens announced it would not have a football season this year after the first day of practice. Days later, Athens and St. Philip announced it had created a co-op, which has allowed the Athens players to have a football season. As a nod to its new partners St. Philip moved one of its home games to Athens. https://www.battlecreekenquirer.com/story/sports/high-school/2026/09/28/assessing-battle-creek-area-high-school-football-after-week-5/91935413007/
